This is Dr. P. Thavitha Thulasi, Graduate from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and Secured 61% at P.G in Social Work, during the year 1995. After completing my P.G, I did my M.Phil in the Dept. of social work, A.U and got award in the year 2008 on the topic “Observation Home Inmates - A study their Social Characteristics”. I was appointed as Asst. Professor in the Dept. of Social Work at SPMVV with UGC pay scale. Right from the my joining in the Dept. of Social Work at SPMVV, Tirupati that is Sept. 2004. So far I have completed nearly 18 years of service as Asst. Professor and have been promoted Stage-I to Stage –II and Stage - III is due for me with effect from 2013. I did my P.hD. under Doctoral Research Supervisor of Prof. V. Uma Dept. of Social Work S.P. Mahila University, Tirupati and got awarded my P.hD. in the year 2013 on the Topic “Empowerment of Women: A study of SHG Approach in A.P.” During this 13 years my teaching experience at S.P. Mahila University, Tirupati I have involved myself actively in teaching, research, extension and consultancy activities and have been guiding P.h.D Scholars from 2016 and served as University NSS Programme Officer for 8 years that is from 2009 to 2017 and I have conducted 7 NSS Special Camps various adopted Panchayaties, to strengthen my academic performance in the Department simultaneously to show keen interest in research in the field of women and child welfare, differently abled community health etc. And so far I have presented number of papers in National, International seminars and conferences, I published 4 books, 30 articles at national and International Journals and books to my credit. To strengthen the curriculum of the Department of Social Work I am serving as a B.O.S. for 6 years, Ec. Member of Teaching Association 2015-16, Anti Raging Squad 2013 -16 and Member of Administrative Council 2013-2014. In addition I have been guiding P.G. Students for conducting their Intervention based Dissertations at P.G level. During the year I have conducted a UGC National Seminar on “Women Issues and Challenges” during 2015, and have brought out proceeding of the National Seminar in the Book form titled “Women in Differential Fields-Issues and Challenges” and framing syllabus and question papers etc.
